New volunteers needed at the Winchester Cats Protection Branch
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. The Winchester branch is a small branch that is run exclusively by volunteers. Our cats are looked after by our dedicated fosterers and the branch committee are leading a small team of enthusiastic volunteers who help us with fundraising and the daily business of finding new homes for cats that can no longer stay with their owners.
We are looking for a number of volunteers to join our team. If you work with computers on a regular basis and would like to contribute to help the local cats, please get in touch with us. We are particularly interested in finding someone to help with managing social media and other publicity, online records, the branch website and it would be helpful if you could drive to assist with rehoming, fundraising and vet visits. We are a really friendly, mixed group of people and hope that we will hear from you soon.
Please send us your contact details and a quick note on how you see yourself fit into the team to email@example.com or ring our coordinator on 01962 883 536 to find out more details.
In addition we always need help with the following:
Cakes, Jams, Marmalades and other produce to sell at our regular fundraising events
Donations of good quality bric-a brac, preferably (but not necessarily!) cat related to sell
Small gifts or items that we can use as Tombola prizes
Your TIME to helping out staffing the fundraising stalls at various events, local fetes, St Maurice's Covert in Winchester, even if you can only spend an hour or two it would help us a lot.
Driving the Branch Van to fundraising events, helping to set up and take down the stall.
If you have a car with a tow bar we have a small trailer that we would also like to use for transporting items to fundraising events.
We are also looking for people to drive the Branch Van and help with cat related duties such as vet trips, collecting cats and kittens to come into branch care and delivering cats to their new homes. We need people who can be extremely flexible during the day as we have to respond to all kinds of different events.
Cat food, cat litter, travelling baskets, washable bedding that we can re-use for the cats in our care.
Left over balls of wool for our knitters to make new blankets for the cats' beds, or if you are able to provide them already made up we would be delighted to receive them ready to use!
Call Sue on 01962 883536 if you can help us with any of the above, thank you!
Volunteers do need to be over 18 years of age, due to insurance issues.
